My year 13 daughter has attended Career Advice with Joanne Ostler in a private capacity.  It has been very successful, my daughter has identified 6 potential occupations, all of which she feels quite excited about.  To narrow it down my daughter has a list of tasks to do .  When my daughter started seeing Joanne she had no idea what career interested her.  She had previously had some thoughts about careers but as she entered year 13 the careers she had previously thought about became unappealing.  These two careers have cropped up on the list that was identified as possible occupations, it seems my daughter needed confidence to know that she was heading in the right direction.  The other four are all careers that sit nicely alongside the original two with skill sets required and the type of outcomes that each career would provide. The sessions were nonthreatening to a young adult, Joanne obviously connects with teenagers and quickly gained my daughters trust.  Both Joanne and the teenager need to engage in this process for it to be successful and Joanne engaged my daughter, I have seen her become interested and animated about the prospects she has identified.  She enjoyed her sessions with Joanne and has made a huge advancement in finding a career that she will enjoy doing. I could strongly recommend Joanne for Careers Advice.  It was a focused session with each session stepping closer towards the outcome.
